Ah yes, getting to the New OHS after it was located on the West side of Oshkosh. Myself, like many others lived close to the lake which made for long commute. Even though the city bus system was providing rides to and from school, it wasn't always a convenient commute, especially in bad weather and during the winter.
I could have used the route which stopped a half block from our house at Tennessee & Powers, but it would have meant getting up much earlier that I was use to and getting to school long before classes started. This was not for me. So I opted to get on a route the was much further away at Harrison & Nevada. Even in cold winter days, it was a fresh brisk walk to the bus stop. This got the riders to school much closer to classes starting.
Going home was also an experience as the crowds waiting for their bus was large and crowded. No matter, we lived through it and it is something that was to be remembered in the future when commuting to/from jobs.
